all four of their daughters were born in South Dakota. June and her two elder sisters, Dorothy J. and Roberta, were attending school.
June attended the University of Minnsota from 1942 to 1945. She was a member of the Methodist girls' sorority, Kappa Phi. June married Eugene David Kampa on Dec. 6, 1944 in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota when she was 21 and he was 22 years old. Her 5-year-old nephew, Dick Kampa, was the ring bearer. Twenty-two years later in August 1966 when she was 43 years old, June and Gene were divorced in Santa Clara County, California. June had been in declining health for a number of years and on Sept. 16, 2012 she passed away in Santa Clara, California surrounded by family. She was 89 years old. |
