Notes: In the April 21, 1930 census, Irene was 12 years old and living with her parents, 11 siblings and her
88-year-old paternal grandmother, Julia. The family did not own a radio.

At the time of the April 6, 1940 U.S. Census, Irene (age 22) told the census taker, Benedict. P. Latterell, that her husband Eugene (age 29) and she were living with their two young daughters, Elizabeth Ann (age 2) and Constance (age 10 mos.), in their own home valued at $1,000 in Foley Village, Benton, Minnesota. Eugene was working as a storeroom clerk in a retail department store. He worked 54 hours the week of March 24-30, 1940; he worked for 52 full-time weeks in 1939 and earned $840 that year. As of April 1, 1935, both Eugene and Irene were living elsewhere; Eugene was in Benton County in a village having less than 2,500 inhabitants, and Irene was in Sherburne County likewise in a village having less than 2,500 inhabitants. Eugene's highest level of education attained was two years of high school, and Irene had finished the eighth grade. Irene was 19 years old when she got married.

In 1993 Eugene and Irene were living at 2755 Adell Lane NE in Salem, Marion, Oregon.

Irene loved her family and adventures back in Foley. She loved to read, play bingo, read, play cards and forever to dance. She would always reminisce about the good old days on the farm, fishing with Dad, cooking with Mom, playing the fiddle as a youngster. She had school to the 8th grade. Her first language at home was Polish, and she learned to speak English in school. She was alert and full of life to the very end.

Irene suffered a small stroke in December 2000 after which she went to live with her daughter Patricia and son-in-law Sam Atkinson. She died in her sleepat their home on March 23, 2002, at the age of 84.
