| Notes: | Greg was the eldest of six children born to Fred and Gloria Woolhouse. He was married when he was 19 and bride Laureen was 17 years old. |
Greg was an avid outdoorsman who was dedicated to his family and friends, and well known for his humanitarianism. He lived in Becker for many years but was a resident of Oakdale, Minnesota when he died suddenly after being thrown from his motorcycle in a single-vehicle crash near Pine Center. Greg had been participating in the "Cruisin’ for Autism" in Minnesota motorcycle fundraiser, started by HalfBreed Custom Motorcycles in Aitkin, Minnesota. There were 160 bikes and 250 people involved in the fundraising event which was able to collect $19,132. According to the sponsors, he was a safe rider, was not consuming alcohol, and was thoroughly enjoying the day; no one knew the reason for the accident. The crash occurred on Co. Rd. 8 about two miles north of Pine Center. When responders arrived, they learned the motorcyclist left the road on a curve that was heading northbound near Camp Lake Rd. Greg was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was thrown from the motorcycle, striking a roadside marker sign. Efforts at the scene to revive him were not successful, and he was pronounced dead. |
