HARBOR PIONEER KILLED IN CRASH
Frank Kaufman Victim of Custer Auto Accident.
The late Frank X. Kaufman,
73, father of J.J. Kaufman, of Aberdeen, was instantly killed yesterday afternoon when the car he was
driving collided with a log truck near Custer, Wash., his home. His wife, who was riding with him, was
only slightly injured.
Mr. Kaufman was a pioneer Aberdeen
business man, coming to this city in 1888. He lived here until 1902. After leaving Aberdeen he
entered the business field in Whatcom county, where Custer is located.
Aside from J.J. Kaufman, of
Kaufman-Leonard Company, Aberdeen, and his widow, Mr. Kaufman is survived by two sons and a
daughter: Frank, of Drake, N.D., John, of Strathmore, Cal., and Mrs. W.H. Phillips, of Lynden, Wash.
Mr. and Mrs. Kaufman were returning to their home from a visit with their daughter in Lynden.
Funeral services will be held Sunday or Monday.
Deceased was a former resident of
this section of Carver county and is well remembered by our older residents, who will learn of his
tragic and sudden death with much regret, and will join the Herald in extending sympathy to the
bereaved family.
