"Ens. and Mrs. Richard
Paul Stimler (Diane Anderson)
who were married Monday in the chapel at the naval base in Long Beach,
California, will spend a month in California. Then the bride will come home
to be with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Qvale
of Gleason Lake Road until her husband is assigned to a new base.
"The groom's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. R. G. Stimler, went
to California for the wedding. Others at the ceremony were Mrs. William
Faulconer, Los Angeles, the bride's great aunt, and Lt. Comm. and Mrs. M. Kierstead
of Long Beach.
"Both young people are graduates
of Wayzata school. The bride is a student at the University of Minnesota,
and the groom was graduated from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis,
Md." |

From a later newspaper article: ". . . Dick
Stimler stopped in at the office last week, looking husky as ever.
Ensign Stimler graduated from
Annapolis Naval Academy in June, 1950, and has been serving in the Korean
waters since then. After spending the holidays here in Wayzata, he will
report to New London, Connecticut, early in January for submarine training.
His wife, Diane, will accompany
him east where they have already arranged for living quarters.
"The Stimlers' address after
January 1 will be Box 7, U. S. Naval Submarine Base, New London, Connecticut."
