Chester was born to William Roy and Ada Parker Haworth on March 26, 1908 in
Fromberg, Montana. He was raised and educated in Fromberg and graduated in 1927.
He and Mabel Catherine Laughery were united in marriage on December 2, 1933. Chester worked at many jobs. He farmed in the Fromberg-Bridger area, was a postal employee, store clerk and coal miner in Fromberg. He was employed at Eaton Metal and Roscoe Steel Co. in Billings as a welder. He moved to Colorado in 1970, where he was employed as a school custodian for five years and a shop foreman for a construction company for 10 years. He retired at age 75 and returned to Billings in 1985. Chester was a member of the Billings DeMolay in 1926, and a 50 years member of the Bridger Golden Eagle Masonic Lodge. He was a most sincere and honest person who took great pride in any work he did. He enjoyed working with all the people with whom he was associated. |
