| Notes: | Anna and Johannes Kaufmann had six children, five of whom immigrated with them to the United States from |
| Germany. Anna Maria Kaufmann was 52 years old when she arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on Aug. 22, 1838 on the Ship Everhard from Binsachse. The Kaufmanns lived in
Cherry, Sullivan, Pennsylvania before moving west to Minnesota in July 1854.
At the time of the Aug. 28, 1850 U.S. federal census, Mary was 60 years old and living with her 60-year-old husband John, 29-year-old daughter Mary Kaufmann and Phillip Miller, age 27 in Cherry, Sullivan, Pennsylvania. At the time of the May 1, 1875 Minnesota state census, Anna was 84 years old and living in Chaska, Carver, Minnesota with her husband John. She stated that she and John were born in Barvaria as were their parents. At the time of the June 10, 1880 U.S. federal census, Mary was 89 years old and living with her husband John and a 13-year-old boarder, Jacob Ohnsorg, in Chaska, Carver, Minnesota. At the time of the May 1, 1885 Minnesota state census, Anna M. was 94 years old and living in Chanhassen, Carver, Minnesota with the Phillip and Anna M. Mueller and their three adult children. Anna Maria died on Mar. 9, 1887 in Laketown, Carver, Minnesota. She was 96 years old. |
