| Notes: | On June 18, 1900 at the time of the U.S. Federal Census, Anna was 2 years old and living with her parents and seven siblings in Rice Village, Benton, Minnesota. |
In 1910 she was living with her family in Langola, Benton, Minnesota. Anna married Adelard Gendreau on Oct. 29, 1919, in Rice County, Minnesota, when he was 26 and she was 22 years old. They were making their newlywed home in her husband's birth town of Agram, Morrison, Minnesota at the time of the Feb. 11, 1920 U.S. Federal Census, but had moved to Little Falls by the time of the birth of their daughter Elaine in April 1921. All of their children would be born in this town. Her father John died on March 15, 1934 when Anna was 36 years old. At the time of the Apr. 9, 1940 U.S. Federal Census, Anna was 47 years old and living with her husband, Adelard, and their five daughters at 811 1st Street S.E. in Little Falls City, Morrison, Minnesota in their own home valued at $2,600. Adelard was working about 15 hours a week as the proprietor of some tourist cabins. They had been living in the same house on April 1, 1935 with the exception, of course, of the twins, Jeanne and Judy, who had not yet been born at that time. Her husband told the census taker that both he and his wife had completed an eighth grade education. Daughter Elaine was a high school graduate, Odile was a sophomore in high school, and Dorothy had completed the 7th grade. The twins were 3 years old. Her mother for whom she was named died on March 8, 1945 when Anna was 47 years old. Her husband Adelard died on July 9, 1958 in Cass, Morrison, Minnesota when Anna was 61 years old. Between the time of her mother's death and her own death, she lost five siblings. Anna passed away 27 years later on April 13, 1985 in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California. She was 87 years old. |
