| Notes: | Adelard's mother died when he was 17 years old. His father Paul passed away at the age of 76 when Adelard was 30 years old. |
When he enlisted he was 25 years of age with the occupation of farmer. He had blue eyes, brown hair, a ruddy complexion and was 5 feet 6 inches in height. Adelard had an honorable discharge from United States Army at Camp Dodge, Iowa on May 20, 1919. He and Anna Maier were married 5 months later. At the time of the Apr. 9, 1940 U.S. Federal Census, Adelard was 47 years old and living with his wife Anna and their five daughters at 811 1st Street S.E. in Little Falls City, Morrison, Minnesota in their own home valued at $2,600. He was working about 15 hours a week as the proprietor of some tourist cabins. He and his family had been living in the same house on April 1, 1935 with the exception, of course, of the twins, Jeanne and Judy, who had not yet been born at that time. He told the census taker that both he and his wife had completed an eighth grade education. Daughter Elaine was a high school graduate, Odile was a sophomore in high school, and Dorothy had completed the 7th grade. The twins were 3 years old. Adelard died July 9, 1958 in Walker, Cass, Minnesota. He was 65 years old. |
