"William F. Herbst, age 75, of Foley, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at the
Foley Nursing Center.
"Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2003,
at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm. The Rev. Tom Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the parish
cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Glendorado VFW Post #806.
"Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Foley Funeral Home
in Foley and 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Knights of Columbus members from the Foley,
Duelm and Foreston Councils will pray the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
"Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
"William Herbst was born May 29,
1928, in St. George Township, rural Benton County, to William
and Clara (Kampa) Herbst. William had lived his entire life in the Duelm area.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. William was
an Honorary Life Member of the Foley Knights of Columbus Bishop Marty Council #3603, Glendorado VFW Post #806, and
St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
"He is survived by his sisters, Lu Ziebol, Richfield and Claire Tait,
Scottsdale Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
"He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Roy, Ervin, Leonard,
Ernest, Carroll, Alma Kowarsch and Dorothy Tomporowski."
