Tom Weber was born in Chicago, Jan. 27, 1934. After graduating from DePaul Academy and DePaul University, he attended the University of Notre Dame where he earned a PhD in theoretical Physics in 1961. He and Gretchen Greenwood were married in 1959 and lived in South Bend where their first of four daughters, Elizabeth, was born. Tom was hired by Iowa State University's Department of Physics and the family moved to Ames, IA, where he has been on the faculty since 1962. His research collaborations have taken him to Russia a number of times. |
