Dr. Reha Butros Jr., 2015

Children: Alexander "Alex" 2013

Notes: Reha (Jr.) attended college in Ankara and wants to become a doctor. He worked as a radiologist intern in Detroit, Michigan.

Reha (Jr.) graduated medical school from a Turkish University, but finished his residency at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan at the end of June 2012. He finished a two-year fellowship at Harvard, Massachusetts General Hospital. He is now a licensed radiologist and is working alongside world-renowned physicians in Interventional Radiology.

His wife's name is Asli Butros and she just received her PhD in February, 2012. She is working at a company in Boston with many MIT graduates developing ecologically friendly car batteries, among other projects. She is in the process of having the result of her PhD work patented. With her professors, she created some kind of material that can replace the discs in the spine. She is a Chemical Engineer and worked for four to five years in the bio-medical field on this project.

Reha Jr. and Asli have a 16-month-old son, Alex, and a golden doodle named Einstein. In his free time he enjoys sailing, swimming and bicycling. As new Minnesota residents in 2015, they are exploring the parks, trails, and the restaurant scene while enjoying all of what the Twin Cities have to offer.,

At birth he was named Selim Reha Butros, Jr. However, in 2015 because of the political situation Reha Jr. formally changed his name from Selim to Paul. Unfortunately he was being called Selim and felt uncomfortable with it being an "Arab" name. In Turkey they call people by the middle name, so his family knows him as Reha Jr. But in the United States he was being called Selim, so he decided to use his baptismal name of Paul.
