| Notes: | At the time of the April 8, 1930 federal census, Raymond was 18 years old and living with his parents and nine siblings on the family farm in |
| St. George Township which was valued at $4,000 (approx. $40,000 in 2001 currency). The family did not own a radio. His uncle Thomas and aunt Milly and their
family lived on the farm next door.
At the time of the Apr. 12, 1940 U.S. Federal Census, Ray was single, 28 years old and living in an apartment rented for $22/month at 335 East Broadway in Butte City, Silver Bow, Montanta with his single 34-year-old niece, Minnie Johnson. He was working as a carpenter in general construction and Minnie was a new worker. They both were seeking work; at the time of the census, Ray had been unemployed for three weeks. He had worked for 32 weeks in the previous year. In April 1935 Ray lived at the same place, but Minnie had been living on a rented farm in Becker County, Minnesota back then. Both of them had an 8th grade education. |
