 In the April 20, 1930 federal census, Louis was 39 years old and living with his wife Anna and daughters Elsie and Margaret in Foley, Benton, Minnesota. He was working as a house carpenter. He rented their home for $15 a month and their family did not have a radio. He stated he was born in Minnesota as were both his parents.
