At the time of the May 13, 1885 Minnesota state census, Gertrude was 3 years old and living with her parents, her paternal grandfather 65-year-old George Sinker (born in England), and her sister Terese in St. Vincent, Kittson, Minnesota At the time of the June 17th, 1895 Minnesota state census, Gertrude was 13 years old and living with her parents and her younger sister Theresia in St. Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota. Her father was working as a blacksmith and stated that he was born in New Brunswick. Her mother stated she was born in St. Cloud. Gertrude and her sister are both listed as being born in Minnesota. At the time of the June 6, 1900 U.S. Federal Census, Gertrude was 18 years old and living with her parents and younger sister Tracy at 2905 Garfield in Minneapolis Ward 8, Hennepin, Minnesota. Her father James was working as a blacksmith. At the time of the June 1905 Minnesota state census, Gertrude was 28 years old and living in St. Cloud Ward 6, Benton, Minnesota. At the time of the Apr. 10, 1930 U. S. Federal Census, Gertrude was 48 years old and living with her husband Joseph and their two children in Brook Park Village District 9, Pine, Minnesota. Joe was working as a section foreman. He and Gertrude were married when he was 23 and she was 24 years old. Gertie died from complications of pneumonia on March 11, 1934 in Brook Park, Hennepin, Minnesota. She was 52 years old. |
