George grew up in Cannon Falls and received his education there. George had brown eyes and fair hair. During 1917 to 1918 he worked for Pioneer Gargage in Cannon Falls, Goodhue, Minnesota. He said his father was his nearest relative. In 1937 he moved to Willmar. At the time of father-in-law Judge Gauthe Qvale's retirement at age 86 in 1946, George Westman was living with him in his home in Willmar at 205 Litchfield Ave. along with his wife Florence and her brother, Maurice Qvale. After a several months illness George passed away unexpected at his home at 1101 S.W. Sixth St. in Willmar, Kandiyohi, Minnesota on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 18, 1981. He was 83 years old. |
