Archie McDonald was born to Archie and Mary Langan McDonald on
June 21, 1878 in Minnesota, the sixth of eight children. In June 1880, he was two years old and living
with his parents and five siblings in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. His father was working as a
carpenter and his mother was keeping house.
In June of 1900, Archie was 21 years old, single, and living with his father and seven siblings at 390 Marshall Avenue, St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. He was working as a clerk at the railroad office. In January of 1920, Archie was 41 years old and living with wife Mary and their three children in their own home, owned free and clear, at 2117 Lyndale Avenue, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. Archie was working as a bottler for a brewing company. All the children were attending school. Robert R. Mullally reminisces about his Uncle Archie: "UNCLE ARCHY WAS BREWMASTER FOR GRAINBELT BEER IN MINNEAPOLIS. I WAS IMPRESSED AS A LITTLE BOY WATCHING UNCLE ARCHY SIP 15 OR 16 DIFFERENT LOCAL BEERS AND IDENTIFY EACH ONE." |
