  29 years old and living with his wife Jane and their two young children in District 19 of Sherbrooke, Lanark County, Canada West (Ontario). He was involved in farming, and the family was of the Catholic faith.

At the time of the 1861 Canadian Census, William Hall ws 38 years old (although he told the censusus enumerator he was 34) and living with his wife Jane and their seven children ranging in age from 3 to 15 years old in a one-story log house in Dalhousie, Lanark, Canada West. He was working as a farmer and the family was of the Roman Catholic faith.

At the time of the 1881 Canadian Census, William Hall was 58 years old (although he told the censusus enumerator he was 55) and living with his wife Jane and son John in Dalhousie and Sherbrooke and Lavant North, Lanark North, Ontario, Canada. At the time of the 1891 Canadian Census, William was 68 years old (although he told the census enumerator he was 65) and living with his wife Jane and son John in Dalhousie and Sherbrooke North, Lanark North, Ontario, Canada. He was working as a farmer and the family was of the Roman Catholic faith.

At the time of the 1901 Canadian Census, William was 78 years old and living with his wife Jane in Dalhousie and Sherbrooke North, Lanark North, Ontario, Canada. He was working as a farmer and the family was of the Roman Catholic faith.

William accidentally fell off a milk wagon and died on May 27, 1901 in Dalhousie, Lanark, Ontario at the age of 78. His son John reported his death to the authorities on the same day.
