living with his parents, 11 siblings and his 88-year-old paternal
grandmother, Julia. The family did not own a radio.
Richard's wife Dorene died at the age of 26, just three days after giving birth to their fifth son, James. Seven years later Richard died in an automobile accident ten days after his 40th birthday. |
