Soft Ginger Cookies

3/4 c. shortening 2 tsp. soda
1 c. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. molasses 1/2 tsp. cloves
1 egg 1 tsp. ginger
2-1/4 c. flour, sifted 1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream together first 4 ingredients. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Form in balls and roll in white sugar. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes at 350°.
