| "As you know, our dad (Roy J. Mullally) had many talents. One was his trumpet playing in The Sauk Rapids Municipal Band in the 1930’s - 1940’s. We all have seen the picture of him with the band holding his trumpet.
"Because of their involvement with drum-and-bugle corps, Kathy and Gavin Burnham have the trumpet that dad played while in the band. "I was asked to make a display case to show off that trumpet and maybe other memorabilia. "Attached are pictures of the trumpet and display case. |

| "The case is oak with Colonial Pine stain and three coats of polyurethane varnish. The hinged top measures 17” wide x 48” long. The case is 29 ˝” high with glass inset top and sides. |

| "There are no formal plans for this case. I have drafting software on our home computer. The only
plans for this and other projects are those that evolve while “playing” with their design.
"Long live the legacy of Roy J. Mullally. "Ralph" -- From a May 5, 2008 e-mail from Ralph Mullally |
"Ralph-- Beautiful job. Do any of you remember Dad getting the horn out just before the band's
weekly concerts down in the park? I remember him making sure the valves were oiled around and then
doing some (a few) schromatic scale warmup runs, sitting on the hassock in front of his easy chair.
Wonderful memories." George -- From a May 6, 2008 e-mail from George Mullally |
