At the time of the Jan. 28, 1920 U.S. Federal Census, Mary was 18 years old and living in Palmer, Sherburne, Minnesota with her father Matt and his 26-year-old wife Caroline, five siblings, and her 77-year-old widowed paternal grandmother Sabina Neuman on the family farm owned free and clear. Her father was working as a farmer in general farming and her 16-year-old brother Jacob was working as a farm laborer at home. Mary and her infant girl passed away from complications of childbirth on Oct. 24, 1935 in Stearns County, Minnesota. She was 34 years old and left behind a grief-stricken husband and eight living children ranging in age from barely 14 to not yet 2 years old. |
