Marie M. Stimler, 81, passed away Saturday, May 1,
2004, at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria. She was born Aug. 28, 1922, in Anaheim, Calif. A
memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Knollwood Village in Santa Maria.
Her sons, daughter, and grandsons will be officiating.
Marie was a dedicated mother and wife. She raised her
three sons in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and moved to Southern California, where she met and married
Spencer Stimler on Nov. 26, 1969.
Marie was a very special lady, a loving mother and wife.
She was a past Worthy Matron of Arcadia OES. She was active in church and loved to golf. After Spence's
retirement, they traveled between Southern California and Bend, Ore., to take full advantage of the
golfing season. Marie made and kept many friends along the way.
Her first love was her family and especially her three
sons, William Greenelsh III of Santa Maria, Jerry Greenelsh of Atascadero and James Greenelsh of
Vancouver, B.C. With her marriage to Spence, she inherited a stepdaughter, Sherry Rodgers and a stepson,
Robert Stimler. She was especially close to Sherry, who took the place of the daughter she never had.
She also had a close relationship with her niece, Julie Mascorro of Santa Maria. She was preceded in
death by her parents and siblings, who consisted of four girls and two boys. She is survived by her
husband, sons, step-children, 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Marie was a happy and joyous person, and will be greatly
missed. The family takes comfort in knowing that she is safely in the hands of God.
