At the time of the April 15, 1930 federal census, Lenny was 9 years old and living with his parents and eight siblings at 67 Spring Street, Rockville, Tolland county, CT. He was attending school at the time. His father Alexis was working as a machinist in a woolen mill. The family was living in their own home which was valued at $3,000.
 
Lenny was a high school graduate and also served in the military. He was 6'3" and 154 pounds with one year of high school education when he enlisted as a Private in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Hartford, Connecticut on December 8, 1941. He worked as a taxi cab driver for 15 years. For the last three years of his life he lived at 958 Vermont St. in San Jose, California.
 
Lenny died of a heart attack and complications from congestive heart failure, pneumonia and chronic respiratory arrest at Kindred Hospital in San Leandro, Alameda County, California on June 17, 2004. He was a widower and 83 years old at the time of his death.
