Notes: On April 22, 1910 at the time of the U.S. Census, Joseph was 8 years old and living with his parents, five siblings and
  a 17-year-old servant, Maggie Krafenbury, in Philadelphia Ward 21, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
 
At the time of the January 28, 1920 U.S. Census, Joseph was 18 years old and living with his parents and six siblings in Philadelphia Ward 21, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was working as an inspector for the telephone company.
 
In the April 4, 1930 federal census, Joseph Jr. was living with his parents and four of his siblings (with the exception of second eldest brother John) at 323 Roxborough Avenue in Roxborough, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The family owned their home which was valued at $10,000 (or $100,000 in current 2001 dollars) and they had a radio. Joseph was 28 years old, widowed, and working as an assistant engineer in the oil business.
 
At the time of the April 8, 1940 U.S. Census, Joseph A. was 38 years old, widowed, and a guest living at 356 West 34th St. at the Sloane House Y M C A (1600 rooms). In April 1935 he had been living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He stated he had completed school through the 5th grade. He was working as a petroleum engineer. In 1939 he worked 35 hours a week for 46 weeks, earning $2,100.
 
Joseph entered active service in the Army Air Services at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio on Jan. 13, 1942. He was in service from then until May 27, 1945 when he was honorably separated from active service at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He served both domestically and overseas.
 
Joseph flew on Transcontinental & Western Air, Inc.'s Flight 925-1 from Cairo, Egypt to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (via Rome, Madrid, Lisbon, Sannon, Cander, Boston and New York), arriving on June 4, 1946. He held U.S. Passport No. 30101 and was carrying three bags totalling 55 pounds in weight. Joseph himself weighed approximately 160 pounds. He and his wife Rose were living at 5741 N. Lambert Ave. in Philadelphia and he was working as an engineer at the time.
 
Joseph died of a heart attack on Nov. 13, 1963 at Bryn Maur Hospital in Lower Merion, Montgomery, Pennsylvania at the age of 62. He and his wife Rose had been living at 1500 Remington Rd. in Wynne, Montgomery, Pennsylvania prior to his death.
