James was born to James Patrick and Elsie Balder Kane on July 8, 1918.
He attended Edgar school and moved with his family to Pryor in 1935.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1941, serving in Italy and Africa with the 752nd Tank Battalion. He was honorably discharged in 1945, and returned to Pryor. James farmed a few years in that area and also served as the local grocer in Pryor for several years. Hen then spent 35 years at E. H. Walrath Elevators in Montana and Wyoming. Upon retirement he moved to Edgar to be near his family. James died Dec. 21, 1992 at St. Vincent Hospital, Billings, Yellowstone, Montana. He was 74 years old. |
