Duelm, Benton Co., MN, September 8, 1896
Reverend Vicar Dierking, Venerable Reverend Vicar Dierking, you would
graciously allow me to direct to you a few words of homage to your Anniversary on
September 24th from the far away America.
On this memorable day of jubilee of my highly
revered Vicar, I, too, am still able to congratulate you. Yes, today, it has been
60 years since you worked as a faithful priest. And now, you are surrounded by a large
following to celebrate with you, as it should be. All come to you today to thank and
congratulate you. Only I cannot represent myself to you in person.
Yes, in your circle of friends and children,
I would gladly take a little place. Would love to really rejoice with you in your way. But,
fate has denied me this. So, enjoy what comes to you on this special day.
Hope, still, someday to add to your joy. In
heaven, if no longer on earth.
In thought, united with you, I shall beseech
the Lord to allow you a long time to still be in charge of the Merfelder community, so dear
to you.
May you after you completed curriculum vitae
have your seat next to the throne of the Lord.
Dedicated by your former parish child
Clemens August Hünck, called Diekaemper
