Notes: At the time of the Feb. 14, 1920 U.S. federal census, Florence was 1-1/2 years old and living with her parents in
  Glendorado, Benton, Minnesota. Her father Joseph was working as a farmer in general farming.
 
At the time of the Apr. 8, 1940 U.S. federal census, Florence was 21 years old and living with her 28-year-old husband Raymond and their two young daughters, Shirley (age 4) and Constance (age 1), in their own home worth $1,200 at 4541 Sixth St. in Columbia Heights, Anoka, Minnesota. On Apr. 1, 1935 she and her husband were living in rural Benton County, Minnesota. Florence told the enumerator that she had completed the 8th grade and that Raymond had graduated from the 5th grade of elementary school. Her husband was working 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year as a laborer in wholesale box making, earning $1,900 in 1939. He did not have any other sources of income.
