Some of Foley's first business places are shown in this picture of the East
part of 4th Avenue North of Dewey Street in the year 1901. The Gust Patka
Saloon building at the right occupied the place where the Youth Center now
stands. To the far left, at the North end of the block was the Stimler
Blacksmith shop about where the Foley Locker now stands. The Stimler Blacksmith
shop was moved to Foley from Duelm. The buildings from left top right are:
Stimler Blacksmith Shop, John Ray Saloon, Fish Studio building built by
Harry Hudson: Hoffman Shoe Shop: B.C. Youngs Machinery, and the Patka
Saloon.
