Notes: At the time of the Apr. 24, 1940 U.S. Federal Census, Earl was 29 years old and living with his 30-year-old wife Molly and their two daughters, Lael (age 5) and Artiss (age 3)
  in a rented home in Edgar, Carbon, Montana. The family had been living in the same house in April 1935. Earl was working as a farm laborer for 60 hours a week. His highest level of education was 4 years of high school.

Earl attended Billings schools and graduated from Fromberg High School. He farmed in the Edgar, Bridger, Hardin and Fromberg areas for 30 years. He retired in 1961 and then worked in carpentry.
 
Earl served two terms on the Fromberg School Board, was past president of Fromberg Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Fromberg Methodist Church.
