At the time of the 1895 Minnesota state census, Lena was 4 years old and living with her
parents and younger brother in Minnetrista, Hennepin, Minnesota. Her father was working as a clerk in a store.
At the time of the June 20, 1900 U.S. federal census, Lena was 9 years old and living with her parents and three siblings in Minnetrista, Hennepin, Minnesota. Boarding with the family was William Peters, a 29-year-old single man from Pennsylvania who was working as a telegraph operator. Lena was attending school. Her father was working as a clerk in a general store. At the time of the June 26, 1905 Minnesota state census, Lena was 14 years old and living with her parents and four siblings in Minnetrista, Hennepin, Minnesota. Her brother George was working as a clerk and her father Gustav was a merchant. At the time of the January 1920 U.S. federal census, Magdalena was 23 years old and living with her husband George and their two young daughters, Agnes and Margaret, in Stuntz, St Louis, Minnesota. Living with them was a boarder, Felix Turkala, a laborer, also two roomers, Alice May Avary and Bertha M. Ryan, both teachers. George was working as a farm manager. At the time of the 1930 U.S. federal census, Magdalena was 38 years old and living with her husband George and their four children on the family farm in Stuntz, St Louis, Minnesota. The family owned a radio. They said she and George were married when they both were 25 years old. Her husband was working as a farmer. Magdalena died in Saint Louis County, Minnesota on Feb. 22, 1971 at the age of 79. |
