At the time of the June 10, 1895 Minnesota State Census, Henry was 31 years old and living in St. Augusta, Stearns, Minnesota. He was working as a farmer.
 
At the time of the June 2, 1900 U.S. Census, Henry was 36 years old and living with his wife Annie and their two children, ages 3 and 1, in St. Augusta, Stearns, Minnesota. At the time of the June 5, 1905 Minnesota State Census, Henry was 41 years old and living with his wife Anna and their five children, aged 8 years to 1 month. He was working as a farmer located at R.F.D. #3 in St. Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota.
 
Henry was born on the family farm in section 3 which he eventually purchased as an adult. He improved it with a splendid brick residence and a roomy barn.
