Ellen Mack, 89, of HuronEllen Mack, 89, of Huron died on her birthday, Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Huron Regional Medical Center.Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial in St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a rosary at 7 p.m. or one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be sent to Holy Trinity Catholic School. Visit www.welterfuneralhome.com. Ellen Gilberta Stimmler was born to George and Julia (Sakre) Stimmler at Clear Lake, Minn. Her parents died when she was 5 years old and she lived in various cities with her sisters. She graduated from high school in St. Paul, Minn., in 1939. She graduated from Minnesota Business School in the Twin Cities with a secretarial degree. She worked as a secretary for the H.J. Heinz Company. On Oct. 13, 1945, she married Carvel Erickson at Clear Lake. They lived in Minneapolis until moving to Huron in 1950. He died Oct. 23, 1957. She then worked part time as a secretary at a CPA firm in Huron. In 1979 she married Ralph Mack at Huron. He died May 2, 1984. Her Catholic faith was extremely important to her. She volunteered as church sacristan, lay minister and assisted with funerals. She also volunteered at the St. Francis Shop and the senior center. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish; Catholic Daughters; and the Huron Area Senior Center. Her many interests included gardening, knitting, baking and collecting angels. She is survived by five children, Kenneth (Sandra) Erickson of Mountain City, Tenn., Nancy (Willis) Chrans of Gillette, Wyo., Robert (Kathryn) Erickson of Broken Arrow, Okla., Julie (Tim Huyck) DeHaven of Huron and Mary (Douglas) Miller of Gillette; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
