Notes: At the time of the June 10, 1905 Minnesota state census, Clarence was 2 years old and living with his parents and
  three brothers in Clear Lake, Sherburne, Minnesota. His father was a farmer.
 
At the time of the Apr. 25, 1910 U.S. federal census, Clarence was 7 years old and living with his parents and five siblings in Clear Lake, Sherburne, Minnesota. His parents had been married 11 years and had 6 children, all of whom were still living. Clarence was attending school along with his two elder brothers. His father was working as a farmer in general farming.

Sunday morning, Oct. 4, 1919, a Ford touring car overturned opposite the Stimmler home, throwing out the occupants and severely injuring a child, who was taken to Dr. Gumper in Becker for treatment. They were westbound passengers and no one learned their names [The Clear Lake Times, 9 Oct 1919, p. 5, col. 2].
 
As of the Jan. 31, 1920 U.S. federal census, Clarence was 16 years old and living with his parents and seven siblings in Clear Lake, Sherburne, Minnesota. His father was working as a farmer in general farming. Clarence and his older brother George were no longer attending school.

In 1934 Clarence was working as an attendant for Gopher Oil Products Co. and living with his wife Helen C. at 336 N. Snelling Ave., Apt. 3 in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota.

At the time of the Apr. 10, 1940 U.S. federal census, Clarence was 37 years old and his 37-year-old wife, Helen C., and their two children, Harold C. (age 11), and Carol L. (age 3), in their own home valued at $3,6000 at 1369 Randolph St. in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. The family had been living in the same place on Apr. 1, 1935. Clarence worked 38 hours a week, 41 weeks a year as a laborer at a wholesale meat packer, earning $1,000 in 1939. He had completed one year of high school, his wife had an 8th grade education and son Harold had completed 5th grade at the time.
