It's less than three weeks to go to our 2011 family reunion to be held Friday and
Saturday, July 22nd and 23rd, 2011 in Minnesota! Here are the finalized plans.
Our group will meet Friday at the Benton County Historical Society and Museum in Sauk Rapids
at 10:30 AM and tour the museum which is part of the BCHS building. Fred Joesting, Research Specialist, and Mary Ostby, Executive Director,
will give the tour and lecture. For lunch we will break and go to a restaurant located next to the museum, Jimmy's Pour House, reserved from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.
Here is a link to Jimmy's Pour House Menu so everyone can familiarize themselves with the choices. When we are done with lunch we'll return to BCHS and discuss our questions and comments
with Fred and Mary, who will be with us up to 4 PM when the facility closes. We will then go from BCHS to Coyote Moon Grill, 480 - 55th Avenue SE, in St. Cloud for dinner; we may order
from their Early Bird Extravaganza Menu. If we get there before the reservation we can have a refreshment and
talk. We will reserve a private dining room and arrange for separate dinner checks.
On Saturday the picnic will be from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Wilson Park shelter on Riverside Drive NE
in St. Cloud on the banks of the Mississippi. For the Saturday picnic event, attendees are responsible to bring their own food
and refreshments. We envision an event similar to a family picnic in the park like we did when when we were younger
and every family brought their own food, sat around and visited.
In the meantime if you haven't yet sent your information for the
“Meet Your Clan Get Acquainted Badge", please rush the info to Dick Kampa right away so we can have your badge(s) waiting for you
at the event. Remember, here's the information we need for each attendee:
- Give your first name -what you like to be called - and last name and the city and state where you live. If you are the spouse or friend of a clan member who is attending, say so.
- List your family ancestry if it is shown on your page on the family web site; here's an Selected Family Biographies Listed Alphabetically by Surname.
Find the listing for your name and at the bottom of the page there may be an Ancestry list of the family names that connect you to the Stimler/Stimmler/Kampa clan.
- If you have children and grandchildren, list the numbers of each.
- Give one or two of your hobbies or special interests.
- Give one or two of your favorite foods.
- Give your taste(s) in music.
- Give a family trait(s) such as sense of humor, funny laugh, short temper, kindness or whatever.
- Why you came to the reunion, in a few words.
We are thinking of turning the information into a type of a reunion memorabilia with photos to be sent to everyone who attends. Your input will be part of it.
Everyone should check in at the registration table when they arrive at the picnic. We can take their individual photos then,
give them their badges, and for those who didn't send info for a badge, we can hand-print one on the spot.
If you know of others who might be interested in attending the event, please spread the word to them and let us know ASAP that they may be coming as well.
If you have any questions, please contact either:
Dick Kampa via e-mail or at 520-743-8621, or
Rae Bordua via e-mail or at

We are so excited about the upcoming reunion and look forward to seeing you all there!
