Michael faced many obstacles in his youth but overcame them to become a freelance martial artist. His
unique experiences on the streets combined with all his years training in traditional as well as non-traditional arts
provided him with the knowledge to create a fighting method and philosophy known as the Nine Rings Collective. He
is also a Jeet Kune Do instructor, certified to teach by Professor Carter Hargrave, the President
of the World Jeet Kune Do Federation. In 2003 Michael moved to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and opened his
dojo, the Nine Rings Collective, on August 1, 2003. He has studied and taught self defense and collective martial
art for the past five years. Michael likes running, hiking, reading books, competing in competition karate and travelling. He also enjoys music and poetry, and writes poems and lyrics occasionally. |
