Notes: At the time of the June 18, 1895 Minnesota state census, Maria was 2 years old and living with her parents and six older brothers on a farm in
Swan River, Morrison, Minnesota. Her father was working as a farmer.

At the time of the June 7 1900 U.S. federal census, Mary was 7 years old and living with her parents and her five older brothers on a farm in Graham, Benton, Minnesota. Her father was working as a farmer.

At the time of the Apr. 23, 1910 U.S. federal census, Anna M. was 17 years old living with her widowed mother and four older brothers on a farm in Graham, Benton, Minnesota. Her brothers John P. and Joseph J. were working as farmers.

Anna Mary married Harold Gapinski on May 7, 1918 when she was 25 and he was 30 years old.

At the time of the Feb. 24, 1920 U.S. federal census, Mary was 26 years old and living with her husband Harold and their 11-month-old daughter, Frances B. on a farm in Alberta, Benton, Minnesota. Harold was working as a farmer in general farming.

Mary Gapinski is listed as 35 years old (she actually was 37) on Apr. 8, 1930 during the U.S. federal census. However, she died Apr. 6, 1930 in Alberta, Benton, Minnesota. Either her information was trascribed earlier and formally inscribed on the census form on the 8th or there is an error on her death certificate. At the time of the census, she was living on a farm in Alberta, Benton, Minnesota with her husband Harry and their six children ranging in age from 11 to 1-11/12 years old. Her husband was working as a farmer in general farming.

Anna Mary died on Apr. 6, 1930 of pneumonia. She had just celebrated her 37th birthday five days earlier.

After Anna Mary's death it fell to eldest daughter Frances, just 11 years old, to take care of her five younger siblings while her father worked the farm.

Matthew Prom recalls: "I remember hearing the story of my great-grandmother’s funeral and how sad it was; as they carried the casket out of the church, behind it walked 5 young girls and my great-grandfather carrying little John who was just shy of 2 years old. My grandma had just turned 11 and she took over raising the children."
