| Notes: | Alex T. was two months old at the time of the April 19, 1910 federal census. He was born in Minnesota and living |
| with his parents and five siblings on the family farm in St. George Twp.,
Benton, Minnesota.
At the time of the Jan. 12, 1920 U.S. federal census, Alex was 8 years old and living with his parents and 10 siblings on the family farm in Saint George, Benton, Minnesota. He was attending school at the time. His father Paul was a farmer in general farming. At the time of the Apr. 26, 1930 U.S. federal census, Alex was 20 years old and living with his parents and 6 siblings on the family farm in Foley, Benton, Minnesota. He and his brother Raymond were working as laborers on the farm with their father. At the time Alexander enlisted in the Army at Fort Snelling on Mar. 2, 1944, he was 34 years old, married and working as an automobile serviceman in Benton County, Minnesota. He said he had a grammer school education. His service start date was Apr. 6, 1944. Alexander lived at 4700 4th Street NE, Minneapolis, MN. He died in Fridley, MN at the age of 93. He was buried in Section 17 Site 983 of the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on Mar. 24, 2003. Ellen Dziuk Lemke reminisces of her father: "... I don't recall my father's occupation as being an Automobile Serviceman. He worked at Minneapolis Electric Steel Casting Company (which no longer exists) as a Maintenance Mechanic and Welder from around 1949 until he retired. Before he was drafted into WWII, he worked on the railroad on the section crew." -- from an Aug. 15, 2011 e-mail |
